Mod managers
DRG mods are installed with a mod manager. The common ones are mintfixed and MintCat. Both run CD2; which one fits depends on where you are and which mods you use.
Which one?
mintfixed
Wasserkleber’s fixed build of mint. Original mint now hits 403 errors when downloading from mod.io; mintfixed fixes that and otherwise works just like mint. It’s what PDRG usually recommends now.
Download mintfixed ↗MintCat
A manager by a Chinese developer, rewritten from mint. When mod.io can’t be reached it routes through its own proxy, and it has a Chinese interface. It’s also the only one that installs DLL and JS mods right now.
MintCat website ↗People on different managers can play together; it doesn’t matter which one the host uses.
A few mods on this site need MintCat, such as CDCompat. Their zips contain a DLL; mint / mintfixed install only the .pak and skip the DLL, so the mod does nothing. Each of these is labelled “MintCat only” on its page.

How MintCat’s proxy works
MintCat connects to mod.io directly first. Only if that fails (timeout or network error) does it go through the author’s server, api.mintcat.work, which fetches from mod.io for you. That’s why mod.io downloads work from mainland China.
Worth knowing: when it uses the proxy, your mod.io login token passes through that server too. If you don’t need it, set MintCat Proxy to disabled under Settings → Network.
Original mint
trumank’s mint is where these managers come from, but it was last updated in December 2025 and now hits 403 errors on mod.io downloads. If you still use it, switch to mintfixed; settings and usage are the same.
